Hematological and Hypoglycemic Effects of Ethanolic Extract of Annona muricata Ripe Fruits Pulp on Streptozotocin-induced Diabetes in Rats: In vivo and In silico Studies

Diabetes mellitus has been a metabolic disorder characterized by interferences in the breakdown of carbohydrate, lipid, and protein as result insulin deficiency. Great efforts are ongoing understanding management diabetes, disease related complication. In this work, an attempt was made to study hematological hypoglycemic effects Annona muricata ripe fruits pulp Streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats validates its traditional claim. The forty-eight (48) Albino rat were divided into six groups which include normal, tests controls. diabetes–induced fed orally with A. extract concentrations 750 mg, 1000 2000 mg respectively. results showed that caused fasting blood sugar glucose levels remarkably reduced near normal. Hematological studies revealed there improvements indices tested when compare diabetes normal group. molecular docking indicate phytochemicals fruit have more affinity for aldose reductase followed alpha-amylase then alpha-glucosidase, montecristin, epoxymurin-A, dicaffeoylquinic acid, kaempferol 3-O-rutinoside show higher three targets than acarbose. These possesses strong effect STZ–induced rats, thus supporting use mellitus.
